Walk-through to Commissioning a System:
Repeating the Upsizing of Data

If your system is being used by other people, then there will be a time lag between when you first take a copy of the system to upsize and when you want to commission the system. In most cases you want to repopulate your database with the latest live data. The commissioning module supports this.

After you have migrated your database, ensure that you keep a copy of the MUST system otherwise you will not be able to repeat the migration during the commissioning steps.

View how to use the commissioning module to repeat upsizing clearing down and re-populating the data when a system goes live.

This step has three buttons, to allow you to re-link to the databases allowing for the files to have moved, then to update the record counts which are used to check that the upsize has worked and finally to check for illegal data values (this can then be automatically fixed).
There are six buttons on this form which are followed in a sequence. Firstly relationships and validation are removed from the SQL Server, then indexes are removed, and then the tables emptied of data. The second set of buttons repeat the process in reverse, migrating the data then adding the indexing and finally adding back the relationships and validation code.
If you updated the row counts in the first step above, then you can use this form to display any tables which have not correctly upsized, if all is well nothing should be shown in this form.
The Access application can finally be re-linked to the SQL Server, if not already linked.
